Norse Axe 216 views.. The Axe head was custom forged by Peter Swarz-Burt .. it's a type of linear-bar random Damascus.. It's 9 and 3/4" long .. 2" wide and and inch thick above the haft .. tapers from below the eye to the edge.. It's a brute, weighs over 4 pounds .. (something Thor might have used .. lol) .... This style of Norse Axe .. was about 70 percent utilitarian .. in all forms of wood construction .. ship building to lodge construction the heave hammer pole could drive large dowels or be hit with another hammer, to split rails ..
